with the Austrian industry and research sector, these are some of my legal tasks involved in the technical development of intelligent and autonomous (heavy) work machines like outdoor forklift and truck-mounted crane in the #Guardian project:
– software and hardware: safety before liability = safety first!
– technical standards (EN, ISO, etc.) alone do not make a product safe!
– always include a legal risk assessment, not just a technical one!
– think cybersecurity from the outset = security by design!
– clarify data protection issues!
